Catching up with friends over drinks sure sounds fun, but the morning that follows, not so much! The looming impacts of hangover over the mind and body often leave people reconsidering their thoughts of drinking ever again and scrabbling around looking for a hangover treatment.

But does it always have to be so? Well, not if you can counter the effects of hangover.

GENERAL MEDICINE FOR HANGOVER AND THEIR SIDE EFFECTS

Taking too much alcohol overburdens your liver, making it difficult for it to empty the excess amount of toxins in the body, which is how you get hangover. In this state, your blood sugar level declines, your body gets dehydrated, and fatigue takes over. To put it simply, hangover is a way for your body to let you know that a toxic environment has been created within. Hangovers not only affect your organ functions but the system as well, mostly that of the digestive system.

People depend on over-the-counter drugs or medicine for hangover to minimize the effects of last night. These medicines for hangover generally are antiemetics or analgesics that are used to treat issues such as pain, fever and nausea. However, these drugs are not free of side effects. Common pain relievers are not the best medicine for a hangover as they not only irritate the stomach, but also damage the liver severely after a long term usage. Then there are certain hangover treatment pills have blood thinning properties, which when consumed with alcohol (another anti-coagulant) form a dangerous combo.
